Scripture: Deuteronomy 28

Deuteronomy 28 details the blessings that accompany obedience that God offered His people of Israel. The scripture starts in Deuteronomy 28:1: “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.” When Israel was obedient, indeed they were set high above all of their neighbors. The kingdoms of David and Solomon while they were obedient to God were very blessed. David’s Israel was blessed militarily, and Solomon’s was blessed economically. Israel’s days of obedience were numbered, and due to repeated idolatry and wickedness, we know that God eventually allowed them to be carried into exile. Let us not surrender the blessings that the obedience of our ancestors purchased through pain and tears! Even if multiple others disregard Bible principles and morals the only wise path for us as believers is to do as Noah did and listen and obey the voice of God. Our obedience may very well lead to the salvation of many!
